They allow us to see the truth behind what the reviewer thinks and forces us to read what they experienced. Number scores and such are the best for flame bait and fanboy wars but subjective criticisms and reviews you have to read and take an opinion away from are the ones that get us all thinking. This game is going to be awesome.
MGO was not included in the review build of the game. I think they will review it separately due to this but will not say I agree with it. It is inclusive to the MGS experience and should have accounted for the final score.
This review is pathetic. He contradicted his preview he wrote early on and rather than giving it the score the game deserves, he gave it less. I suspect he is doing this to get more hits? Signs of a sying website perhaps? Desparation is what I see here. lol
Pay homage to the man that made it all possible. Kudos to Kojima for one of the best series to grace a gamer.
But with SC never having been labeled "one of the greatest games ever", how is it that you would not be willing to even try MGS4? I know even if I were a devout fanboy towards any particular system, hearing that MGS4 is one of the greatest games ever played by some of the worlds best game magazine editors, I would even consider playing it. Gladly for me, I love games and so MGS4 will be in my console day one!

There are no valid reasons for having any trouble programming for the PS3. There are a ton of resources out there to ease the developmental process of games for the PS3 making this an unacceptable excuse.
Ok, but it's still a WWII shooter. Been there, done that and if this had come out a year and a half ago, maybe it would have been cool but for god sakes, it has taken too long to get to us. I will rent, not buy.

To see MS doing well in the UK as they are doing in NA. It's a shame however that they cannot penetrate the rest of the world. In order to dominate any generation you need full world penetration. Sony and Nintendo seem to have that but MS is just to focused on NA and the UK. Oh well, it's all good for the gamers.
The first 5 hours of the game are a 9.5 at best but as time oes on it gets repetative and dull. It's no less than an 8.5 though IMHO.
The new look for Sam just sucked. Come on, it's Splinter Cell, not some Bourne wannabe. Bring back the Sam we all have come to know and love.
With an installed fan base of 125 million people, there is no way the PS3 could have failed. It would take nearly as many generations Sony took to build it's reputation to turn around and ruin it. Why would they not release another 600 dollar console? The one they release a little over a year ago is selling quite nicely. Not saying I doubt what you are saying but let's look at it fromt he hind sight. They may have released to some pretty critical reception but now they are seeling very well and still hold the higher price point. I would say that they would be inclined to do so again but it is up for debate.

What Haze IS however is a perfect example as to how HYPE can kill a games reviews. The take I have on it is that there are a few little baby reviewers that have had their feeling hurt in actually falling for their own hype. It's like they all wanted the game to be the next Halo killer and now that they know it is not they decide to go rabid on the game and score it much less than it truly deserves. In the end, having played the game I can say that it deserves no less than Blacksite and Turok....

Only issue is that when reading it you have to take into account that it is written from a 360 fanboy and from the number of good things he says about the PS3, I am actually shocked. Personally, I appreciate the PS3 controller more so than the 360 due to it's lightweight feel, better D-Pad and the SIXAXIS control.
